Origami Society of Toronto Meetings

Our usual meeting date is the third Thursday of each month and are open to the public. See the Introduction page for more details about what we do.

The next meeting will be on May 15, 2008, 7-9 PM.

The topic will be Origami Pop Up.

Please note that the June meeting will be WEDNESDAY June 11th. More details later.

Directions

The Japan Foundation Toronto is located at 131 Bloor St West, Suite 213. This is on the South side of Bloor Street between Avenue Road and Bay Street, across the road from Starbucks and Winners (where the old Chapters flagship store used to be).

From the TTC :

Bay Station (Bloor-Danforth) is the closest TTC stop.

If you use the Cumberland Street exit and pass through the shopping arcade (Nike/Winners) to Bloor St, the entrance will be across the street and to the right.

Museum Station (Yonge-University) is the next closest stop. It is a short walk to Bloor Street and half a block (turn right) to the Japan Foundation.

Origami Workshops at North York Central Library

The Origami Society of Toronto in conjunction with Toronto Public Library is offering a monthly series of sampler workshops in Origami at North York Central Library. These workshops are for teens 12 -19. No origami experience necessary! We begin with easy folding and progress to more complex models to give a taste of what advanced origami is all about. Workshops are free and paper is provided. Always something new!

Be sure to mention it is the Teen program you are calling about. Future workshop dates are also listed in What's On, the Toronto Public Library magazine. Workshops are led by John Guppy and Margaret Tsui with keen support from other members.

At 7-9 PM Wednesday June 11, as part of the World Washi Summit in June, the Origami Society of Toronto will be holding a public workshop for folding with washi (tradtional Japanese paper) at the Japan Foundation.
